EI levels remain stable

Statistics Canada says the number of people collecting Employment Insurance continued a trend in March that started last September.

EI rolls remained stable for the for the seventh-straight month with 549,400 people collecting benefits.
The number of initial and renewal claims totalled 234,200 in March, while claims were down in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta. Quebec and New Brunswick both showed more people looking to claim during the month.
