Kraft works on becoming trash free

Published by Steve Coleman on February 03, 2012

Kraft Foods says it has cut trash pickups at its production plants since 2005, with 36 sites now sending no trash to landfills.

The food processor says it has decided to clean up its operations one plant at a time over the last few years to reduce the amount of waste it generates.

Kraft launched its program in 2007 with Sonoco Recycling and an eye on changing its corporate culture. Employees were invited to get involved.

For a look at some of the measures the company has taken in its ongoing efforts, check the following story.
